PAD 793 Capstone

Collage of students presenting in PAD 793
In Spring 2025, MPA Capstone students worked on interesting and impactful projects such as developing a proposal for 91成人导航 to re-landscape some of its acreage with native plant gardens and incorporating a nonprofit to support trans youth and raising more than $2,000 for it. In addition to their Capstone projects and portfolios, these students (now alums!) participated in professional development sessions with MPA Advisory Board members and other public service professionals. Thanks again to Tynisha Worthy, Juliana Baquero McGuinn, Stacie Strotman, and Angela Cook听for leading these sessions!

PAD 632 Executive Management & Public Leadership

Students in our Spring 2025 Executive Management & Public Leadership class (PAD 632) presented a $2,000 grant award to the Zembrodt Education Center 鈥 which is part of The Point/Arc of Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati 鈥 at 91成人导航鈥檚 Mayerson Student Philanthropy Awards (MSPP) Ceremony.

91成人导航 also celebrated 25 years of MSPP this year! Over the last quarter-century through this program, 91成人导航 students have invested more than $1 million in our region. Victoria Short (2021) was the student/alum speaker at the Mayerson celebration dinner. Victoria participated in MSPP classes as a dual-credit high school student, undergraduate student, and graduate student. In addition, she was working at Master Provisions when they were awarded a Mayerson grant.

Thanks to the 91成人导航 Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement, the Manuel D. & Rhoda Mayerson Foundation, and other funders that have supported the MSPP over the last 25 years! 2. Educate public service听providers on language access barriers.

3. Establish a network of collaborators and agencies for continuous improvement in quality of听services for clients and patients in Cincinnati.

Kelli Gowan

Kelli Gowan stillshot being interviewed on tv

MPA student Kelli Gowan serves as Executive Director of KY FIRST Robotics, which provides robotics programs for PK-12 youth throughout the state of Kentucky. KY FIRST Robotics was recently featured on the 鈥淜entucky Life鈥 program on Kentucky Educational Television (KET), and Kelli听was one of the interviewees.

The vision of KY First Robotics is "to inspire the next generation of problem solvers and leaders." In the Kentucky Life episode, Kelli talks about one aspect of this perspective: "We have a word that we use in FIRST called 'coopertition' because your opponent in one match maybe your alliance partner in the next match so it's embedded in that way but it's also just the culture of FIRST to support the competition and to help everybody." .

Mallory Bane

MPA student Mallory Bane shared a great report on LinkedIn about her听 learning and networking experiences at the Kentucky City and County Management Association's conference. (Text copied and pasted above.) Congrats again to Mallory, Michael Frazier, and Luke Price for being awarded conference scholarships, and thanks again to KCCMA for their听support of our students!

"I had an incredible experience at the Kentucky City/County Management Winter Conference! The event featured insightful guest speakers and workshops on a variety of important topics, including coaching elected officials, cybersecurity, and applied positive psychology. KACo and KLC provided valuable updates on new legislation, and we even had an update on medical cannabis. It was inspiring to hear about the latest developments happening in Kentucky. In the photo, I'm with fellow students from MPA programs across the Commonwealth, as well as Randy Reid, Southeast Regional Director for the International City/County Management Association. 鈥 I had a fantastic time connecting with city and county managers听from all over Kentucky and look forward to applying what I've learned."听
